The 2010 Erin Peterson Golf Tournament
The Third Annual Erin Peterson Golf Tournament was a great success thanks to the participation and contribution of our golfers, corporate sponsors, and volunteers. In spite of the near 100 degree temperatures, all participants were willing to not only brave the heat and humidity, but to do so with smiles, laughter, and good sportmanship, making for an enjoyable day of sports, comraderie, and service.
As a small token of our appreciation and that of our corporate sponsors, each golfer received Nike golf shoes and Nike Erin Peterson Fund hats. Needless to say, the group left looking even more stylish than they did when they arrived!
We would like to thank all new and returning golfers and our corporate sponsors for their participation and support. Because of you, we are able to help young people in our community further their education. Many thanks to Rocky Clarkin, the Erin Peterson Golf Committee, and the Westfield Golf Club - your tireless efforts are truly an inspiration. Golfers even lauded this tournament as the best one in the area - such high praise is a testament to all of your hard work.
Again, thank you for your continued support - we could not do it without you!
The 2009 Erin Peterson Golf Tournament
The Second Annual Erin Peterson golf tournament was held Monday, June 22, 2009. It was a great success, and return golfers said it was the most well run tournament they had participated in. Mother nature was on our side for once and gave us a gorgeous sunny day. Our dedicated volunteers began setting up at 8 am at the Chantilly Golf and Country Club. By 8:30, we were ready when our first golfer came to register. During registration, golfers enjoyed breakfast provided by Eggspectations. The third place team, the Buffalo Chicken Wings, made it just before the end of registration and the 11:00 tee time. One member of the team drove all the way from Raleigh, NC, and picked up his teammates in Roanoke on the way. Once golfing began, all the teams were able to enjoy 18 holes of rain-free golf and were each provided with a box lunch. After golfing, participants came in for hors d' oeuvres and had a chance to browse the silent auction items. Dinner was served when all golfers had finished playing, and the silent auction and live auction took place after dinner. Winners were also announced and prizes were awarded to the top three teams.
The Erin Peterson Fund was touched by the enthusiasm of the crowd and would like to thank the Chantilly National Golf and Country Club, Eggspectations, the sponsors, golfers, and all the volunteers that made this day such a success.
